The Jane Austin Book Club

Ok, I didn't read the book although I thought about it and looked at it many times. I did get the movie off Netflix, however, and we watched it last night. It was ok. AW didn't enjoy it and let it be known -- I didn't know a person could make so much noise rattling and crinkling a chip bag! In any event, I am sure this is one of those cases where the book is much better than the movie but, because I watched the movie first (going against my cardinal rule) I probably will never read the book. Sigh. One should really listen to one's own advice!

Oh, you really should read the book! It's very good and not very long (which is good for people such as myself who have attention span problems). I liked the movie, but I was a little disappointed at how much they left out and changed around. And a couple of characters were combined, I guess to simplify the story line. Anyway, I thought they were both entertaining. And next time AW is watching one of his action/adventure flicks, be sure to make as much noise as possible!

I might try the book -- and yes, if I want to screw up AW's viewing pleasure all I have to do is turn on the dishwasher which sounds like a small plane trying to start up. My next Netflix is "The Reader". I looked at the book but put it back for a while -- I hope the movie is decent.

What to Do While Waiting

Yes, once again, I am waiting — just biding my time until my surgery appointment on  Wednesday.  Am I nervous — maybe a little — do I still...
