Spring? No, I don't think so.

I had to share the photo (my header photo) of my crabapple tree blooming.  All these little leaves have come out just over two days -- I just love the color.

So, is it looking like spring?  Well, yes, it is LOOKING like spring but Mother Nature if fickle and we are expecting snow on Tuesday.  Supposedly not enough to mess up traffic which is good -- traffic in DFW never needs any help being messed up.

But, I am sorry for all the spring foliage sprouting forth.  Maybe it won't destroy everything.

Spring, what is that word? We were sitting at - 40 oC this morning....at this point I would love a temperature that was a single digit.......- 9 oC would be a heat wave for us...LOL

Glad to see some nice weather somewhere.

Oh, Gill -- I don't envy you at all. I will take our ridiculously changeable weather any day. My poor cousin in Pennsylvania is miserable and he LOVES the weather. I have a friend in Boston who fell and injured his wrist and I am just wishing for spring. O course, here in Texas, it can be summer one day, winter the next, the trees can come out and then freeze back in just a matter of hours. The only thing predictable here is a hot, hot summer.

I'm hoping for signs of life on my flowering cherry. It should flower in March and it is a nudiflorum variety (flowers before leaves). Then I shall truly know spring is on the way. Snowdrops and daffodils have been known to tell fibs.

You should get a letter this week, by the way.

Mary -- around here we count on there being at least one more freeze when things start budding out. It has always been that way so I am looking at my crabapple tree and my pear trees and am not surprised that we are going to have another bit of cold weather. I am just hoping they are wrong about the snow.

Jane -- I know this has been a horrendous winter for so many and I am so sorry. We have had a mild winter so far but I remember a few years ago having eleven days below 0 f. That was rough for us -- it was horrible. I guess being born in the south I am just never going to be a cold weather person. I hope you guys thaw quickly and soon.

Update

Ok, so we visited our cardiologist yesterday to get the lay of the land for the Hubs.  Seems there is an issue with one of the grafts from ...
