Today was a rough homeschool day. To begin with I was sleepy this morning and could have really used an extra half hour of sleep this morning. It was cold but sunny, a nice day.
I tried my hand at making oven fried chicken for the third time. This time was better but not great. I have decided that “fried” and “oven” just don’t work well together. I am going to start researching air fryers but I really don’t like small appliances. Sigh.
I hope tomorrow is better and not so many tech glitches with school. We are supposed to have frozen fog in the morning. Sounds exciting doesn’t it?
Oh, and when I got home this afternoon I discovered that Trixie had shredded her bed. She tears up anything that is stuffed so I spent the evening searching for a wicker dog bed like my mother had for our dogs. I finally found one. Amish made. Totally unreasonable. But it isn’t stuffed.
As my aunt like to say— if it’s not one damn” thing it’s another.
Second sigh.
I think it is time for bed.

I bought an air fryer then sent it back as I decided that I didn't want another small appliance. Then someone gave me one as a present so I felt I couldn't just send it back. And I am so glad I kept it. It's far more versatile than the name suggests and I use it as a mini oven several times a week. It's quicker than my big oven (doesn't need preheating) and cooks beautifully.
Hi, Mary! I thank you for your comments about the air fryer. I will look at one closer now. What brand do you have? My husband likes crispy food but with his diabetes we need to keep it to a minimum. Have you read the Mitford books? I am like Cynthia always trying to perfect oven fries and never quite getting there! I will look into he appliance again.
My air fryer is by Tower but I don't think I would necessarily buy the same again.
Oh I hope you get an answer from Mary about the air fryer. I've been considering getting one too but I don't have a spot to keep it. Have to figure that one out first.
I wonder why Trixie shredded her bed. Was she upset? Or just bored maybe.
Oh no, what a day! I hope tomorrow will be better. I wonder if there are any dog beds made from that material used in high-tech motorcycle wear, that cannot be torn. But probably like the Amish beds, outrageously overpriced!
hi, Mary! I am looking at a cuisinart which looks like it would fit on the counter well.
Hi, GM! She just tears everything up. She won’t keep a plush toy and this was her third bed and she isn’t even two yet. If she tears up the basket my husband is going to build her a wooden box!
Hi, Merry! No yesterday wasn’t better. I came home totally exhausted and couldn’t eat. I make that sound like a bad thing—I could live off the fat of the land for a month!
