I mourn the loss of the small neighborhood schools. As a retired elementary teacher, I truly believe that the smaller school community provides a much more nurturing and solid community for young students and their parents ... boo hoo.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Yes, it is being torn down and rebuilt but they are leaving part of it -- this district has done that before sort of mixed the old and the new. I hate to see it go -- it was such a nice, little neighborhood school.
Guatami -- thanks for dropping by! Yes, it is sad and, in my hometown, it seems to be the way they like to do things! A lot! I took some pictures of the school a while back so I do have those to look at and I can understand them needing to improve for safety and technology but still, in this town, almost everything from my childhood has been removed and it is a little disturbing!
Alyce -- thanks for stopping by! Yes, it is but at least they are retaining part of it for "historic preservation" and it is the most interesting part of the school. I am glad about that.

Is it being pulled down? It's always a shame when that happens My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qCafm
What a shame! Has it been consolidated or going to be rebuilt?
Here's my Snapshot.
It's always hard to see schools "no more"
School consolidations going on everywhere it seems. sad

Sad. They tore down my elementary school and even though it has been years since I was in it, it was still sad.
