Booking Through Thursday -- January 2, 2014

Looky, looky - I got the date right!

I digress.

Today's question for Booking Through Thursday is "What Were Your Favorite Books Last Year".

This is easy -- the books I read by Dorothea Benton Frank.  I was looking for an audio book to read on my daily commute and decided on "Folly Beach" because I recognized the cover and it was affordable at my neighborhood Half Price Books.  The first five minutes into the book and I was hooked.  It helped that it was narrated by a fantastic speaker in the form of Robin Miles.  This led me into a love for the Frank books and a love for audio books.

I went on to read "Pawley's Island", "Sullivan's Island", "Return to Sullivan's Island" and "Porch Lights".  I am pretty sure I am not done with Dorothea Benton Frank yet -- will let you know.

love her books also and have also read them. All take place in a place I love to visit.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

I enjoyed a book by Dorothea Benton Frank last year (The Last Original Wife)..it didn't quite make my favorites, but I loved it enough to download Porch Lights.

Here's MY BTT POST

I have never read any of DBFs books. Looks like I have a new author to look into. This week I combined two memes, Monday Musings, and BTT. They are both book related to the end of 2013.

Oh, I loved that book! Have you bought or made a bottle tree yet?

Laurel Rain Snow -- Porch Lights was really good as well!

Gigi Ann -- yes, definitely give one of her books a try -- I suggest "Folly Beach" to begin.

Pooch -- Nope -- no bottle tree -- yet!

Never heard of these, but I usually like beach reads.

RAnn -- I really enjoyed "Sullivan's Island" as it mainly took place in the 60's and I could identify even though I have never been to South Carolina. I just had to read the sequel then and it was just as good.

Update

Yes, it has been a month — and what a month it has been.  Long story short all the grafts from my husbands bypass surgery have disappeared ...
