My Week So Far

This week has been full of anxiety for me for a lot of reasons.  I had a multitude of things to do:  sew patches on a Girl Scout vest, finish a quilt or two, make a couple of little dresses, make bread, finish a dreadful book....but I just couldn't settle myself down enough to focus on any of that.

So, I did this instead....

Version #2 -- much improved -- I made it dimensional but you really can't see that

Version #1 -- all kinds of crooked

Version #1 -- everything is "off" but I will use it anyway

This one will be used today for "somebody's" 6th birthday!
I spent this morning organizing the multitudes of new equipment -- so much stuff, so little room.

Who knew that cutting paper could be so therapeutic?

New equipment? Do tell!

I will post about it. And I might go back today and get a bit more -- watched some videos yesterday on Distress Ink and how to distress the edges of your layers. I can see this turning into a very involved "thing" but it is so much fun!

FUN! You're making great cards already! I have to say that Jo-Ann's kind of makes me mad. They send constant coupons with dumb exclusions AND they hike prices up so they can have 40% off sales. I think I might take my crafty self to Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I rarely buy fabric and when I do I should give the quilt shop my biz. Rant over! Sorry, BB!
Why do you have to finish that horrid book? I feel that way with my book club choices sometimes.
Just tell yourself that you are only going to visit those "have to's" for five minutes each and see if the desire to complete them takes hold. It might not but it's worth a try.
I was eating some rock candy that an English blog friend sent me and it pulled out a crown so now I have to drive downtown Denver to get it glued back in. Dumb Pom Pom - biting when the rock candy is supposed to be licked. Drat.

Hi,Pom Pom -- yes, you are correct about Joann-- most of the items I go for are excluded from the coupons but the sales are ok. I am sure they raise the prices but in the end the sales are still better than retail. I deal with it though because it is right across the street! Probably too close for comfort! I prefer buying fabric from quilt shops and we have several indie stores here that are wonderful. As far as the books goes -- I am almost finished and I just hate to quit -- I am going to take it up in a little bit and give it a go. It is "Past Imperfect" by Julian Fellows and I really like it but it is just way too wordy. I know that sound ridiculous but sometimes, by the time I have gotten to the end of the paragraph, I have forgotten what he was talking about! The book is actually good but it is just dragging for me. I am so sorry about your crown! I have one I need to have replaced but I am just putting it off for no good reason. Yes, biting rock candy is not a good idea.

Update

Ok, so we visited our cardiologist yesterday to get the lay of the land for the Hubs.  Seems there is an issue with one of the grafts from ...
