I recently finished “The Dutch House” by Ann Patchett. It was a gift from my son and his family and I have to say it was a stellar gift choice.
It is the story of Danny and Maeve Conroy and their life in the Dutch house and their relationship with each other that is forged by an emotionally absent father and a physically absent mother. It is a bit dark but nothing questionable and it is so well written and flows so beautifully it was a smooth read.
I would definitely recommend this book as it is a book you can really get into. It is a page turner for sure.
