Getting My Mojo Back—

I used to be a fairly avid card maker.  I loved it.  It was my “art”.  So, about covid time I fell and broke my arm.  That put my cardmaking on hold for awhile —- a LONG while.  So before Christmas I was getting the bug again and I went to my supplies to see what I had and lo and behold the glue was like rubber, the stamp pads were dry and I couldn’t find my bone folder to save my life.

Fast forward to Christmas.  My husband asks me what gift I want == I don’t know and then it strikes me out of the blue — cardmaking supplies.  So, the husband says to me “order what you want and that will be Christmas”.  Oh. My. Gosh.  I mean, I have Amazon Prime and I know how to use it and use it I did —

The “gifts” started comin’ and they just kept comin’ to the point my husband started questioning what in the world was I doing.  Well, what I had been doing was watching lots of videos and seeing all sorts of new, interesting, and helpful products so I had to have some of those along with the replenishment items.

It was a great Christmas.

Now, I am really dysfunctional when it comes to all things cards —I either forget to buy them or buy them and fail to mail them — that is what happened this Christmas.  I have a brand spanky new box of Papyrus cards that never got mailed.  Sigh.  Anyway …

The first card I need for this year is a birthday card for my grandson who will be 18 in a few days — we COULD discuss how that has even happened — wasn’t it just yesterday I was changing his diaper? I think so! I digress.  So, I decided to make his card because honestly, I don’t really like store bought cards so much — too many words — that is why I buy mostly blank cards and write a note — but I wasn’t sure if I had any design style left in me.  So this is what I came up with —

I know it is simple and plain but I am a little rusty with measuring and lining up and such so it needed to be simple.
I am sorry.  I couldn’t help myself.  Not my fault if his grandmother has the sense of humor of a twelve year old.
I made the envelope as well — couldn’t remember how to use the envelope maker so I had to google it and reteach myself — I am using the circle as a sticker to close the flap.

So, that is it.  I have been working on it for three days, made the “18” circle three different times in three different ways and this is the finished product..

How did I do?
